This Suku slotted drum, originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, is a fine example of African art and culture. It dates from the middle of the 20th century and measures 10.5x10x36 cm. The drum is carved from natural wood and represents a human head. The face is oval and harmonious, with an almond-shaped mouth, a triangular nose and coffee bean eyes. The hairstyle is elaborate and has geometric patterns. Suku slotted drums were used by diviners for fortune-telling. This decoration is a unique piece.
