The Twin Ibeji sculpture is a sculpture that originated in Nigeria and dates from the middle of the 20th century. The name Ere Ibeji - “ere” means sacred image; 'ibi' means born; 'eji' means two and Ibeji means “born twice” or “twins.” The head of the sculpture is oversized because that's where the Ori (spiritual self) lives. It is the most important part of the body, it determines the success or failure of our destiny. This unique wooden and cowrie item measures 20x20x37 cm.
