This unique sculpture represents a loom pulley, specifically a Lega Heddle Pulley sculpture, from the Lega tribe in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Dating from the middle of the 20th century, this piece measures 5x7x19 cm. It is made of wood and includes wire. The pulley is characterized by a stylized shape with distinctive prints and patterns, and has a patina that indicates repeated use. This handmade object was used in the weaving process and reflects the art and culture of the Lega people.
